Improvements
Editor - Respect character limits when applying an AI action
⚙️ GL Strings already allows users to set character limits at a key level for both the base and target languages. When a translation is entered manually or imported into the Editor, any translation that exceeds the configured limit is flagged with a warning.
Going forward, all available AI actions in our Editor (including translate, rephrase and shorten a translation) will take into account these limits, helping you generate translations that are ready to use with fewer manual adjustments.
Figma plugin – Extended translation order details
⚙️ The Figma plugin allows teams to submit translation orders to TransPerfect translation services directly from Figma. Users can track the progress of these translation orders within the plugin, where they can view the order number, requester, creation date, and order status.
We've now expanded the order details displayed in the plugin to include the target languages, the GlobalLink Enterprise TMS submission name and other custom fields (where applicable), giving you better visibility into each translation order.

In addition, users can now click on a specific order in the list to view its full set of details.

Bugs
UI redesign bug fixes
🛠 Thanks to your feedback and our team's ongoing testing efforts, we've continued refining the new interface by fixing a range of minor issues. These improvements will help ensure a smoother transition when the redesigned interface becomes the default option.
- Editor: unsaved changes were discarded when navigating away from a draft or target value or a metadata field in the Details view. Now users see a dialog that lets them save, discard or cancel before they navigate to somewhere else in the Editor view.
- Editor: when renaming a key on the dashboard, there is a background check to make sure the keys in the project remain unique. This check was only taking into account the selected entries instead of the full project, resulting in an error message when the key was renamed to match an existing key. Now, the background check includes all the keys in the project.
- Editor: on the project creation workflow, we replaced the hard-coded link to our Branching documentation to a dynamic link.
- Editor: when switching branches, the current selection of strings displayed on the Editor view was kept. The selection is now reset when switching branches and the full list of keys is displayed.
- Editor: when the screenshot on the Screen preview was resized, the string highlighting on the screen was lost. Now, after resizing the screen, the position of each string on a screenshot is correctly displayed.
- Editor: the Side-by-Side view was missing some elements. We updated it to match the elements displayed on the old interface.
- Editor: there were missing functionalities after resizing the browser window while on the Screenshot editor view. This issues have now been addressed.
- Editor: in projects with a large number of screenshots or tags, dragging screenshots or tags to reorder them would freeze the interface. The reordering action now stays responsive.
- Editor: when setting a character restriction on a string, the changes weren't saved. This has been addressed and character restrictions are now correctly saved.
- Orders: the link to the translation order that is displayed in the "New submission created via GlobalLink Enterprise TMS integration" was broken. It now correctly directs users to the translation order.
- SDK: The exported Settings file from a project with groups or branches was empty. Now, the Settings file contains the keys from the main group or branch by default.
